One of the best pizza places in Indy - beats Bazbeaux into the ground. Tasty, doughy crust chock full of toppings. The Hawaiian pizza has an awesome kick from the Thai chili sauce and the margarita was very good too (could use just a touch more of spices maybe?)
The stand out was our sausage pan pizza. The pan pizza crust is one of the best I've ever had....you could put anything on it and it would be divine. Highly highly recommend if you like a crispier (almost caramelized) crust with a chewy center. Ugh!!!! Too good.
Skip the Caesar salad though....very average.
So excited to try more pizzas and different salad options!! -

Sometimes, it takes a bit of luck for a business to be successful. When Pearl Street first opened, it was located on an alley downtown between Circle Centre Mall and the former Jefferson Plaza on Penn. What was lucky was that a large open parking lot was across the street which kept the natural light available and made the alley feel open, not creepy. I find it hard to believe that with all the development downtown that this same lot is still undeveloped after ten years! It allowed the place to be seen and develop a following when it could have been easily forgotten.
I hadn't been back in a long time, so I decided to stop by and grab some lunch. They were packed on a Thursday! Note that you have to enter the building through a door west of the pizza place and enter through a hallway and step up in through another door to the dining room. Once there, the sign suggests to seat yourself.
I saw a few counter seats by the window across from the bar. That may have been part of my problem. Nobody realized I was there. My back was to the bar, but I wasn't at the bar, so was one of the dining room staff supposed to wait on me or one of the bartenders? They were packed, so it was hard to get anyone's attention so I stayed facing the open area and tried making eye contact. After about five minutes, one of the staff who eventually became my waitress saw me and made a point to come over. I will recommend not selecting this location if possible since I was surprised by a waiter who came up behind me to refresh my water. And it took awhile again to get my check. Sit at the bar or at a regular table in the dining area to get more timely service.
I ordered a personal sized pizza. They have lots of suggested options and a build your own option too. I went with an 8" size and chose the hand-tossed option. The Mad Greek happens to be meatless, but sure comes with a lot of flavor. Although I left off the banana peppers, the combo of flavors, especially the cheeses with the assorted veggies was delicious! Even the crust which had a crispness to it had an excellent flavor with a hint of salt. I would gladly recommend that choice.
The wait time was pretty short considering how busy the place was. If they are this busy during the week, they must get crazy busy during ballgames.
Note that they do offer a Yelp 10% discount on food items.

Poor excuse for a business. We sat there for 30 min and never was acknowledged. Two different wait staff passed by us but never stopped to take our order. It was busy the night we were there but to never get acknowledged is poor business.
We did go back at 11 am a few days later. They weren't busy as they had just opened. We had a very nice gentleman that waited on us and the pizza was good. I advise to go early if you want good service to go along with the good pizza. -

So I was downtown the other night for the Jonas Brothers concert at Bankers Life and my friend suggested we go to Pearl Street first for dinner. I honestly had never heard of it , but it's located like right by Bankers Life! Super convenient for concerts. I was pleasantly surprised ! It wasn't super busy , the waitress was attentive, and the food was great. The ONLY thing I would mention (which isn't necessarily the restaurant's fault) is that we had a few gnats lingering around the table which was a little distracting. Other than that everything was great.

I've been to Pearl street a couple of times, mostly before heading to Bankers Life for a concert. It's a great pre-concert place, because it's oddly never busy. I'm surprised it's not busy because the food is so good! This last visit, we ordered the breadsticks and the buffalo chicken pizza. They have a good beer list and cocktail list. I'd definitely be back and highly recommend.
